Interventional radiologists need a percutaneous lung biopsy method that accesses the target site in a single pass in order to increase tissue yield per puncture while decreasing the risk of pneumothorax.
Our goal is to improve the existing biopsy system to decrease the risk of procedural complications and enable improved navigation of complex anatomy. Our technology allows clinicians to more precisely sample tissue, supporting the advent of characterization for personalized medicine.
This solution has the potential to not only impact the lung biopsy space, but also adapt and expand to the greater biopsy market.
Our team originated from the JHU BME Design Team program in the 2019-2020 academic year. Since then, we have been operating independently and secured our own funding. From the team’s inception, I have operated as the testing team lead.
